The effects of display of these data are not significant and are explained in the Universal EFI-890R Pilot’s Operating Manual. 1.11.2 T-1 and T-2 tests were waived because the flight handling qualities between a generic G-1159 and the G-1159 EFI-890R were determined to be identical. T-3 testing entailed flying selected maneuvers from the ATP Practical Test Standard, with the FSB Chairman being evaluated in each maneuver. Ground training and flight evaluation of the Universal Avionics EFI-890R Flight Display System took place on 04 June 2007 at IFR Avionics, Inc.The FSB Chairman received two-hours of ground training on the G-1159 EFI-890R avionics display system. The cockpit of the aircraft, and the EFI-890R avionics systems, was powered using ground power. At the completion of training, a verbal examination and practical exercise in the cockpit was administered. The flight evaluation consisted of a flight in the local southern California area. During the flight the FSB Chairman conducted various maneuvers in accordance with the ATP Practical Test Standard s. Those maneuvers included, Steep Turns, Unusual Attitudes, and Stalls. Other tasks accomplished consisted of area departures and arrivals, precision approaches (ILS), non-precision approaches (GPS), and missed approach procedures. All operating modes of the Universal Avionics EFI-890R Flight Display System were exercised and demonstrated. 1.11.3. As such, the training, checking, and currency requirements as proposed by the applicant is accepted with a few minor exceptions. The variant (to airplane) is the G-1159 EFI-890R.In addition, training using the G-1159 EFI-890R aircraft flight deck with the EFI-890R system properly powered on the ground may be substituted for ICBI or CPT training. This check may include oral questioning, written testing, or demonstration of ability using a CPT or aircraft flight deck with ground power applied.http://tortugafilms.com/adminfiles/da-vinci-convertible-crib-manual.xml Use of the airplane flight deck, with ground power operative, is acceptable as a CPT. If alternate compliance is sought, operators will be required to establish that any proposed alternate means provides an equivalent level of safety to the provisions of AC 120-53 and this FSB report.
